Thermo-economic assessment and optimization of a multigeneration system powered by geothermal and solar energy

A novel multigeneration system using dual renewable energy sources (i.e., geothermal and solar) is introduced, analyzed, optimized. The integration of a line, solar tower, steam Rankine cycle, two organic cycles, an ejector refrigeration thermoelectric generator unit, reverse osmosis subsystem forms the entire system. outputs this energy-conversion are heating load, cooling electricity, freshwater. Regarding methodology, energy, exergy, exergoeconomic approaches implemented to assess from thermodynamic economic viewpoints. Moreover, optimization process based on exergy efficiency total unit cost products executed determine system’s optimal decision variables. results obtained show that proposed able achieve 25.4% 34.1 $/GJ products, exhibiting 48% 43% improvement compared base case study. Furthermore, methodology demonstrated study where operates at its optimum condition in specific location. Having monthly average values direct normal irradiation for spot, hourly performance evaluated each month.
